A. J. Crouch

December 9, 1916 — March 13, 2010

A. J. was born and for the most part, raised on or around farming. A "jack of all trades", he spent most of his productive years at two precincts for Dallas County as a mechanic, retiring after 26 years of service. After retiring, he went back to farming and trading, two things he enjoyed most in life, spending many hours working for Bobby Goodloe in Red Oak. Red Oak was his first home and he lived there for the past 15 years of his life. A. J. and Goldie are one of the pioneering families of DeSoto, moving here in the early 1940's and seeing all of their children graduate from DeSoto High School before returning to his roots in Red Oak. Mr. Crouch is survived by his wife of 73 years, Goldie (Pogue) Crouch, children and their spouses, Billy Wayne and Judy Crouch of Ovilla, TX, Ginger and Dale Hoggatt of Athens, TX, Clifford Earl and Robin Crouch of Goldwaithe, TX, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters and their husbands, Thelma and R. C. Lowrance, Josephine and Johnny Deaton and Mildred and Paul Robinson all of Red Oak. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, march 15th at the Funeral Home with Services held at 11 A. M. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the WEST/HURTT Chapel with Dr. Clyde H. Box, officiating. Interment will follow in Red Oak Cemetery, Red Oak, TX.
