To the Mountain Man
A chapter has ended, but the story not told
A fellow has left us, with legacy of bold.
To be missed and cause pain, is not what he’d need
But an example of what, a fellow should heed.
It is what anyone wants, and should last until;
Maybe one follows those steps, to fully fulfill.
One can never be done, with the life given us,
For someone to continue the story, surely a must.
Although sad for the loss and gap it will leave,
Allen leaves us with something, in which to believe.
The family left behind, with all its desires yet unmet,
Leaves us those who might, just, do it yet.
Our only hope, is to leave this place
With a living trust, just in case!
I’m sure Allen is proud, and left things as such
Knowing that those who are left will do much.
No better feeling, I’m sure he’d agree
The pride in his family he’s surely to see.
As I sit here writing this letter,
Knowing he couldn’t have done things better.
The love and remembrance of all those around,
Leaves an indelible mark on this ground.
Allen lived and admired the past,
No greater gift is knowing it will last.
As he goes to the greatest of all Rendezvous,
I’m sure he’ll be waiting to see all of you.
With no hurry in mind, he will be setting up camp
Tanning some hide, and lighting the lamp.
I’m sure preparations will be made, things will be set
On that day we all finally all met.
Until then, carry on in the comfort of knowing
I’m sure Allen will have that campfire glowing.
All my love,
Tony
