Angela Pelayo was Promoted to Glory Thursday, July 28, 2022. She passed away at the age of 90 years old. She faithfully served as a soldier in The Salvation Army church, Women’s Ministries, care for the elderly, Red Kettle, Angel Tree and Kitchen Ministry for 26 years. She was born in Jalisco, Mexico and grew up in both states of Jalisco and Colima. She learned to live off the land, ride horses, and grew great knowledge of growing crops and flowers. She married Salvador Salazar, a musician, and had 5 children. Her family moved to Matamorros, MX where she continued to work in caring for others as a nanny, elderly care, and taking care of the home. She immigrated to The United States in 1970 and became a caregiver of the elderly. After 25 years, she then joined her daughter and helped the family as her daughter and son-in-law pastored churches in The Salvation Army. Angela Pelayo is survived by her children, Francisco, Salvador, Candelaria, Cecilia, Margarita, godmother to Angelica Garcia, 20 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. Her greatest joys were being a caretaker, providing for her family, supporting her grandchildren, spending time with her great grandchildren, and taking care of God’s earth through gardening. She loved God by serving others. With limited English, she ministered to all she met with her warm spirit, care, and compassion. Angela was such an example of strong work-ethic, service, perseverance, hospitality, care, selflessness, elegance, style, and incredible strength. She led a disciplined and courageous life.
