Anna Louise Duke Cameron was born in Roxton, Texas on May 17, 1916, and died on July 9, 2014 in Cedar Hill, Texas.
Graveside Services were conducted at Restland Cemetery, Roxton, Texas on July 12, 2014 at 11:30 A. M. with Michael Hurtt of West-Hurtt Funeral Home, officiating,Honorary Pallbearers: Brent Madewell, grandson: James Cartwright, son-in-law and nephews: Barry Woodard, Ronnie Duke, Garth Duke and Gary Duke. Refreshments were provided after the service at the homes of Martha Duke and Marleta and Bryan Duke.
Louise was the daughter of Rufus Harvey and Daisy Fletcher Duke of Roxton, Texas. In a family of five brothers and two sisters: Cecil Duke, Kewen Duke, Prud Duke Fred Duke, Morris (Bud) Duke, Marie Noland and Coye McGrew. She married Fred Allen Cameron, of Ben Franklin on December 23, 1934. They were married for 60 years before Fred died on January 16, 1993.
Louise is best known for her kind and generous spirit and her ability to play the piano by ear. Anyone who met Louise was greeted with a warm, friendly smile and a slice of homemade pie. She retired from Sears & Roebuck after working there for over 30 years.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Louise is survived by her sister and closest friend: Coye McGrew, her only daughter: Gail Cartwright and husband: James, granddaughter: Jana Boatner and husband: Glen, grandson: Brent Madewell and wife: Kim, and five great grandchildren: Kristin Moore, Cres-Anthony Madewell, Samantha Cobb, Brianna Moore, and Kara Boatner, and numerous nieces and nephews.
