Arlon “PAP” HOWZE, 88, a DeSoto resident of 60 years. He was preceded in death by parents: Bill and Lula Howze, sister: Louise Hines and brother: Sonny Howze. Survivors include his beloved and cherished wife of 66 years: Reta Howze, son and his wife: Kent and Robin Howze of Waxahachie, granddaughter and her husband: Kasey and Jerry Fisher of Oklahoma and grandson: Garrett Howze of Waxahachie. He courageously served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a respected Boy Scout leader for Troup 141. He was an employee of LTV for 40 years, before retiring in 1992. He loved working in his garden, while family and friends enjoyed the fruits of his labor for many decades. His greatest achievement was his marriage of 66 years to the love of his life, Reta. Their marriage set an example of love and kindness for his son and granddaughters marriage. Arlon was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, and served faithfully as a deacon for years. His faith in the Lord was highly respected by family, friends, and community. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at The Grace Place, Duncanville Church of Christ, 402 W. Danieldale Rd., Duncanville, TX 75137. Ron Carlson , officiating.
