Bernice Ann Rhodes

Bernice Ann Rhodes was born on November 4, 1924 to Clarence and Mary Tullos in Pennington, Texas. Raised as having many siblings, Bernice shined through her thoughtfulness and giving from the everyday smile she would bring. The never ending stories we all would entail and learn from her could bring laughter and teach a history from the long years of life she lived. As a graduate from Pennington High School in 1942 as Valedictorian and coming to Dallas, Texas and attending Draughn’s Business College. She married Elvis Burnette Rhodes in 1947. She was employed by Leeway Motors for 41 years retiring in 1984. She was a devoted Christian and an active member of First United Methodist Church of Desoto. Sewing and volunteering became her passion and would often do volunteer work for Charlton Methodist Hospital, United Methodist Women, Crusader’s Class, Congrutional Class, Congrutional Care, Meals on Wheels, and DeSoto Community OutReach. E.B. “Dusty” Rhodes preceded her in death in 1987 and daughter Dolores Muench in 2011. She died peacefully on Wednesday December 30, 2020 and is survived by her daughter Cindy Sacco and husband Mark Sacco, granddaughter Sharee Arispe and husband Joe Arispe. Grandchildren are Amber Hufman and husband Jeremy, Shaun Sacco and wife Crystal. Great-grandchildren Lauren, Taylor, Alexus, Haley, and Caitlynn Arispe, Callie Sacco, and James Hufman, and numerous nephews/nieces. Friends will be able to sign the guestbook and pay their respects at the Funeral Home on Friday - January 08, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 P.M. (Same Day) in Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6000 S. R.L. Thornton Frwy., Dallas, TX 75232 with Rev. Kevin Strempke, officiating.
