Bette K. Hand

67, of Ovilla, TX passed away on August 01, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday - August 06, 2016 at Ovilla Church of Christ, 3420 Ovilla Rd., Ovilla, TX 75154 with Mr. Michael Elrod, officiating. Bette K Hand, Elizabeth Katherine Mahl Hand, or Elizabeth Katherine Bette K Honey Child Angel Mahl as her mom lovingly called her all her life, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on August 1, 2016. Bette had few great loves in her life, her momma, and her Robert! She loved her friends and family passionately and always wanted to bring light and joy to their lives. Bette was dedicated to her greeting card addiction, if you knew Bette you got a card from her at least two to three times a year, she was a firm believer in a hand written note. She loved her flowers and if you’ve ever seen her yard you know those flowers loved her right back! She loved taking care of Robert and her yard and Robert loved seeing her happy in everything she did. Bette was a two-time cancer survivor, in 2009 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and then again in 2012, both times she battled through bravely with the support of friends and family. Bette will be missed by everyone who loved her, but we are happy for her to be out of pain and at home with Jesus and her momma. Bette is preceded in her passing by her father Emil Bernard Mahl, her momma Lexa Lee Mahl, her brother Emil Thomas Mahl, nephew Thomas Mahl and her father-in-law T.O. Hand and sister-in-law Barbara Hand Bates. Survivors include: her beloved Robert A Hand, her best friend and sister Ruby Jean Mahl Lionberger and brother-in-law Reggie Lionberger, their children Karen, Scott & Jolee, and their children, her sister-in-law Caroline Mahl, her children, Steve, Barry, Shellie, and their children, mother-in-law, Faye Hand, brother-in-law Bryan Hand and wife LaDonna, and their children, sisters-in-law and their husbands, Janet & Paul White, and their family, Brenda & Kevin Barth, and their family. Go with God and in Peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
