Betty Mary Snow Cacciapaglia, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026.
Born February 26, 1935 in Belchertown, MA, Betty lived a life filled with family, love, faith, friendship, and service. She was known for her gentle spirit, kindness, and generosity, and had a special way of making the people around her feel loved.
Betty is survived by her brother Kenneth Snow and wife Linda, daughter Holly Cacciapaglia and husband Pat Blake, son Peter Cacciapaglia and wife Karen, son Paul Cacciapaglia and wife Beth, grandchildren Joseph Cacciapaglia and wife Mandy, Dominic Cacciapaglia, Zachary Cacciapaglia and wife Ashley, Sophia Cacciapaglia and great grandson Peter Clyde Cacciapaglia, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe Cacciapaglia, parents Houghton and Darsa Snow, and sister Shirley Schmitz.
She found joy in baking and gardening but above all, her greatest joy was her family. She treasured her time with family in Texas, California, and Massachusetts and created countless memories that will remain with them forever.
Betty and Joe raised their three children mostly abroad in Nuremberg and Munich, where Joes’ job with AAFES took them. The family has wonderful memories of their years in Germany.
The family moved to DeSoto in 1975 where Betty and Joe remained. Betty quickly became part of the community. They were long time members of First United Methodist Church of DeSoto, TX.
Those who knew and loved Betty will remember her for her love and dedication to family and friends. She was an exceptional baker, cook, seamstress and bowler. She spent many hours volunteering for Meals on Wheels, the DeSoto Food Pantry, United Methodist Women in Faith, and Charleton Methodist Women’s Auxiliary. Her love, laughter, and the lessons she gave us will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched.
We will miss Betty more than words can express, but we are grateful for every moment we were blessed to have with her.
A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, November 20, 2026, at 11 am, at First United Methodist Church of DeSoto. Interment will be on the same day at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Retina Foundation of the Southwest, or the American Heart Association.
