Betty Jane Cordell

77, of DeSoto, TX passed away on December 19, 2018. Betty was born in Whitesboro, Texas on January 26, 1941 to William A. (Bill) and Velma Knight Mayo. She was one of eight children. She was retired from HKS Architects, and director and secretary for 502C3 non-profit Helping Hands Gleaning Ministry for Hunger Relief. She was a member of the Eastern Star and A B W A. Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years: Daryl Cordell, daughter, grandson, and three great grandchildren, 5 sisters, 2 brothers and a host of additional family and friends. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Saturday - December 22, 2018 from 12:NOON until 1:00 P.M. at which time the Funeral Service will begin (all on the same day).
