Billie Ann Crawford Hamman

Billie was born in Deport, TX on April 14, 1943 to Earl and Margaret Crawford. She grew up in Blossom, Texas. She was an outstanding basketball player at Blossom High School where she also graduated. She began her college education at Paris Junior College by earning a Associates in Arts degree. She completed her higher education at Texas A&M Commerce with a degree in Home Economics. While at Paris Junior College she met Christy Hamman. They were married July 12, 1963 in Savoy, TX in a double wedding with her sister Sandra Graves. They just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary, Billie and Christy had three children, Mark, Juli, and Amy. Her parents as well as Mark and Juli have preceded her in death. She loved her three children dearly. She enjoyed attending all of their sporting events and missed only a few of them. She wanted to be a stay-at-home mom to be able to spend time with her children and husband. Billie liked the outdoors especially playing tennis. She preferred playing doubles with her friends and children. She was an amazing cook too. She also went hunting and skeet shooting with her husband. She enjoyed shopping, eating and visiting with her family and friends every chance she got. Billie is survived by her husband Christy Hamman, daughter Amy Wallace and husband Greg of Arlington, TX, her three grandsons Jeffrey Wallace, Ryan Wallace, and Jeremiah Hamman of Spring, TX, her daughter in-law Pam Hamman, her two sisters Sandra Graves and Judy Landers, plus two brother in-laws, and nieces & nephews. Billie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Desoto, TX. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday - August 06, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, 310 Roaring Springs, DeSoto, TX with Rev. Kevin Strempke, officiating. Interment will be private on a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials or donations be made in Billie's name to the American Lung Association, 8150 Brookriver Dr., Suite S 102, Dallas, TX 7524704053.
