: Bobbie Jean Zehner Garner, beloved wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt passed away on August 29, 2011, at the age of 79, surrounded by the love and comfort of her husband and children. Bobbie was born on May 24, 1932 in Memphis, TN to Joseph Earl and Daisy Estelle Zehner, and is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters (Prynne Greer, Estelle Smothers, Mary Trice and Irene Wann) and one brother Joe Zehner, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert John Garner, their five children, five grandchildren and one great-grandson: Gloria Jean Garner Melton (husband Stephen), John Garner (children- Robert and Elizabeth), Charles Garner (wife Deirdre and children Nicholas and Katherine), Rebecca Garner and James Garner; grand-daughter Grace Melton Loggins (husband Martin and son William); and numerous nieces and nephews. Bobbie played tennis and ran track for Southside High in Memphis, met the love of her life on a blind date her senior year, married when Bob returned from Korea, and started their life together in New Orleans. Bob and Bobbie eventually settled in Dallas to raise their children. They shared a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed time spent with family, especially summer vacations in Pensacola. In her spare time, Bobbie was always busy with sewing and needle-arts, gardening and decorating her home. The family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice, Home Instead, and Terrie Jordan for their tender care during Bobbie's illness. Visitation will be held at Calvary Hill Mausoleum, North Chapel, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas TX 75220 on August 31, 2011 from 11:30 A. M. to Noon, followed by Mass at 12:00 P. M., and entombment to follow in the Patio Mausoleum at Calvary Hill.
