Brenda Sue Russell

70, of Cedar Hill, TX passed away on July 11, 2019.

Brenda retired from the City of Cedar Hill as Tax Assessor/Collector and the Cedar Hill Independent School District.  She was a longtime member of Duncanville Church of Christ and taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She also served as President of the Texas School Tax Assessors and Chapter President of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and Life Member of Cedar Hill Historical Society.

Brenda was preceded in death by her son:  Christopher Allen Russell; sisters:  Leona Chambers, Eileen Miller, Ernestine Shaffer, Mary Sessom & Saundra Markwood and brother:  Udell Rose.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years:  Allen Russell; son & daughter in law:  David & Lesli Russell; grandchildren:  Reagan, Jonah, Raylee, Allyson & Lindsey; adopted parents:  Joyce & Willard Murdock; brother:  Ralph L. Rose; sisters:  Frankie Lee, Betty Jo Vestal & Eldora Rose Cowgill and many nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Saturday - July 13, 2019 from 5 - 7:00 P.M.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday - July 14, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Duncanville Church of Christ / The Grace Place, 520 Big Stone Gap Rd., Duncanville, TX 75137.

Interment will follow in Wheatland Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
