Brittany Faye “Britt” Allen
July 10, 1986 – October 5, 2026
Brittany Faye “Britt” Allen, 40, of Cedar Hill, Texas, passed away on October 5, 2026. Brittany was born on July 10, 1986, at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas, the same hospital where, 40 years later, her earthly life would come to a close.
Family was deeply important to Brittany. She shared an especially close and loving relationship with her grandmother, Sue Howell, and treasured the time they spent together. She is survived by her mother, Luann Holcomb, and her husband, John Holcomb; her beloved grandmother, Sue Howell; her uncle, Gaylen Howell, and his wife, Valerie Howell; and numerous other family members and friends who will remember and miss her dearly.
Brittany was preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Lou Howell, with whom she shared a special bond. Her family finds comfort in their Christian faith and in believing that Brittany has been welcomed home into Heaven, reunited with her grandfather and other loved ones who went before her.
Brittany graduated from Crossroads Academy, where she was the salutatorian of her graduating class. She had a special talent for arts and crafts and loved making things for family and friends. She eventually turned that talent into a small business, sharing her handmade creations with others. Brittany was also a devoted animal lover, and her beloved cats held a very special place in her heart.
During the last several years of her life, Brittany bravely faced kidney disease and the many challenges that came with it. Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Innovative Regional Dialysis Center in Lancaster, Texas, for the care, kindness, and compassion they provided throughout her treatment.
Although Brittany’s life ended far too soon, the love she shared and the memories she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Her family takes comfort in the promise of Christ:
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” — John 11:25
For those who loved Brittany, this is not simply a goodbye, but a hope-filled promise that she is at peace in Heaven and reunited with her beloved grandfather.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Brittany’s honor to the American Kidney Fund or The National Kidney Foundation, helping others and their families who are facing kidney disease.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Friday - October 16, 2026 from 10:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at which time the Funeral Service will begin with Pastor Larry D. Williams, officiating.
Interment will be private in Hamilton Beeman Cemetery, Corsicana, TX.
