Noble Edward Smallwood, 85 passed away at his son's home in Celina, Texas. He was born in Caviness, Texas, raised in Chicota, Texas, graduated from high school and joined the U. S. Army. He married, became a master electrician, moved to East Dallas in 1954, then to the Wheatland area of Dallas in 1955-1956. He retired to Gun Barrel City after a stroke in 1986. His wife, Bonnie died in 2012. Mr. Smallwood is survived by his children: Vickie Smallwood Burkhart of Hurst, Larry Smallwood and his wife: Tammy of Waxahachie, Wesley and his wife: Tami Smallwood of Celina, TX, Betsy Smallwood Robertson of Red Oak. Thirteen grandchildren survive: Kristina, Nikole, Melanie, Marcus, Krystal, Tanner, Taylor, Brittany, Raeleigh, Beau, Stetson, Astin and Hagen, 12 great grandchildren and a number of extended relatives.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until SERVICE TIME of 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 in the WEST/HURTT Chapel. Rev. Billy Hackler of Eastridge Baptist Church of Red Oak, officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at High Cemetery (east of Kaufman) north of Highway 243, at the corner of VZ Co. Rd. 2115 & 2120 in Van Zandt County, Texas.
Pallbearers are: Marcus Smallwood, Hagen Robertson, Astin Robertson, Tanner Winders, Beau Smallwood, Glenn Barajas, Zack Crawford.
