Walton Allen Bowman, passed away on March 31. He was born on Dec. 1, 1923. He lived his life to the fullest. He was born in Lindale, Texas. He attended Brownsboro high school where he was one of the fastest runners on the track team. He served on the USS. Maryland as a Gunner’s mate first class from Pearl Harbor until the end of WWII. After his yrs. in the Navy he married Jane Kidd from Brownsboro. Shortly after marrying Jane, he started working for the Dallas Fire Department where he was a firefighter for 38 years. After retiring as an active fire Captain, he continued employment with the fire department for 23 more years as a jack of all trades. He was a very talented man, loved to play the organ, guitar and sing. He loved all animals and loved a good home cooked meal. He could fix anything that was broken. Jane and Walt had three children, John Allen Bowman of DeSoto, Dale Lee Bowman of Brownsboro, and one daughter Dee Ann Bowman. Four grandchildren, Candice Bowman, Courtney Bowman, Angela Nabors and Clifton Bowman. He is preceded in death by Jane Kidd Bowman, second wife Ethel Miller Bowman, son John Allen Bowman and daughter Dee Ann Bowman. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday - April 03, 2013 from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday - April 04, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home with Rev. Denny Burris, officiating. Entombment will follow in the Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, De Soto, TX.
