Carl "Butch" Eby, Jr.

Carl H. Eby Jr, known to most as "Butch" was born July 16, 1938 in Harlingen Texas.  He was the oldest child of Carl H. Eby and Addie Mae Wilson Eby.  His family moved to Fort Worth Texas at age 10.  He met Karen Gentry in 1955 and married her on June 7, 1958.  Together, they raised four children: Deborah, Rick, Mike, and Daryl. They were blessed with 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He started his career in the Navy and worked most of his life for AT&T.  He was active in the Gideon Ministry for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Ryan and Chad Bailey, his parents, grandparents, and his son Mike.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Karen (living in Mansfield, Texas); his daughter Deborah (married to Mike Capps, living in Holland, Indiana), Rick (married to Kathy, living in Mansfield, Texas), daughter-in-law Bridgette Eby Smiley (living in Ovilla, Texas), and Daryl Eby (married to Janet, living in Terlingua, Texas).  He had two siblings, Pam Johnson (living in Mena, Arkansas) and Gene Eby (living in Linden, Texas).  He had many cousins, nieces, nephews, other family, and countless friends.

He went peacefully to Heaven on November 7, 2020, at 8am Central time from his home at Watercrest, Mansfield, Texas.  It was his prayer that everyone he knew will someday join him in his heavenly home.

A service honoring his life and praising his Lord will be held on Monday, November 9, at 11am, at Pleasantview Baptist Church, 4400 Pleasantview Dr., Arlington, TX 76017 (817) 483- 7100  The family wants to thank Pleasantview Baptist Church, AleveCare Hospice, and their many friends for their kindness.

A Graveside Service will be held at a later date for family.
