Carolyn Ann Kilzer was born in Spanish Fort, Texas on March 28, 1941 to John Herman Bigbie and Viola Mae Bigbie. She attended Prairie Valley High School where she lettered all four years in basketball and served as class president. While in high school, Carolyn was the editor of the school yearbook (the Kennel) and the editor of the school newspaper (the Prairie Valley Bark). She graduated from Prairie Valley High School in 1959 and married John Robert Kilzer on June 30, 1962. Carolyn and John raised their children, Karen Denise Kilzer and Jeffrey Shawn Kilzer, in Dallas, Texas. Carolyn worked for the Dallas Independent School District for 21 years before her retirement. During her retirement years she devoted her time to her grandsons, church ministry, painting and sewing. Carolyn gave her life to follow Jesus at an early age and the fruits of her faith were evident throughout her life by her selflessness, her kindness toward others and her servant’s heart. Carolyn loved to laugh and she loved her family tremendously. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband John Robert Kilzer, her daughter Karen Denise Kilzer and her brother Donald Wayne Bigbie. She is survived by her son Jeffrey Shawn Kilzer, daughter-in-law Debra Darlene Harris Kilzer and her grandsons Justin Shawn Kilzer and Joshua Shane Kilzer. In lieu of flowers, Carolyn’s family is requesting donations to purchase Bibles for (Ovilla Road Baptist Church) in Carolyn’s memory. Graveside Services will be held on Friday - September 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in Spanish Fort Cemetery, 4043 F M 103, Nocona (Spanish Fort), TX 76255 with Pastor Matt Bowles, officiating.
