Charles E. “Charlie” Hart, 71, of DeSoto TX passed from his earthly walk on April 14, 2014.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday - April 18, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church, 310 Roaring Springs, DeSoto, TX 75115 with Rev. Kevin Strempke, officiating.
Interment will follow in Little Bethel Memorial Park, Duncanville, TX.
The family will receive friends on Thursday - April 17, 2014 from 6 - 8:00 P.M. at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home.
Charlie was born on October 8, 1942 in Campbell, TX to the Reverend Charles S. and Sallye Hart. He graduated as valedictorian of his class from Lone Oak High School then attended Texas Tech University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He married Linda Mae Shelton of Lubbock on August 25, 1966. Charlie and Linda began their lives together in El Paso, TX where Charlie went to work for El Paso Electric Company. In El Paso, they welcomed their sons, Mark and Gary, into the world. The young family moved to DeSoto in 1977. Charlie went to work for Multi-Amp (which later became Avo International). The family also joined and became active in First United Methodist Church DeSoto. Mark and Gary graduated from DeSoto High School and eventually married. Charlie and Linda enjoyed the growth of their “family”, welcoming the first grandchild in 1997. The family mourned Linda’s untimely passing later that year. Charlie found love again, marrying Johnnie Sue Skinner on June 4, 1999. Charlie and Sue continued their lives in DeSoto and remained active at FUMC DeSoto, right up to his passing on April 14, 2014.
Charlie was a faithful, humble and dependable servant of the Lord, enjoyed playing practical jokes and deeply loved his family. He was a doting husband, a model father, a proud grandfather and trustworthy friend.
Charlie is survived by his wife Sue; son Mark and his wife Amy and their children Ryan, Caleb and Wesley; son Gary and his wife Renee and their children Macie and Makenna; step-son Lee and his wife Natasha and their children Cody and Ty
Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
The family requests memorials be made in Charlie's name to the First United Methodist Church Endowment Fund.
