OBITURARY FOR TECHNICAL SERGEANT (RETIRED) CHARLES EDWARD SPENCER, SR Charles E. Spencer, Sr was born on 13 September 1951 and was the son of Annanias and Erma Jean (Spencer) Lawson. Charles received his education from Horace Mann High School in 1970. After graduating from high school, he enlisted into the United States Air Force in January 1971. His military career allowed him to travel and see the world. His first duty assignment was Wiesbaden Air Base, Germany as an Inventory Management Specialist; he was later reassigned to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey; Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, Hickam Air Force Base, Honolulu Hawaii, Saudi Arabia Air Base; Osan Air Base, Seoul Korea; Hellenikon Air Base, Athens Greece and Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma where he retired from the military in September 1991. The distinctive accomplishments Technical Sergeant Charles Spencer reflect credit upon himself and the United States Air Force. After retiring from the military, Charles transitioned into civil service and received training and became Nursing Assistance at the VA North Texas Health Care until he retired in June 2005. Charles departed this life on December 20, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annannias Lawson, Erma Jean (Spencer) Lawson. Charles’ precious memories will be cherished and celebrated by his surviving loved ones: 3 sisters and 2 brothers: Paula Jean Lige`, James Earl Lawson, Linda Bealer, Phyllis Benson and Richard Lawson, and his 4 children: Precious-Ebony Spencer, Charles Edward Spencer, II (Beverly) ~ ~ Aaron Jarod Spencer and Janae Spencer, (Lynette) and his 3 amazing/adorable grandsons: Cayson Christopher, Cash Charles and Crew Cornelius; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial Graveside Services, with Military Honors, will be held in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mt. Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX 75211 on Friday - January 22, 2021 at 9:00 A.M.
