Christine Louise Mathis died Monday, August 10, 2015 at her home in DeSoto, Texas. She was born in Detroit, Texas, to Dave and Ruby Mathis. Her occupations included legal secretary and travel agent. She served in many philanthropic and civic capacities, including President of the Oak Cliff Lions Club Auxiliary, the Methodist Hospital Guild, and East Kessler Book Club. Most recently she volunteered at the Methodist Hospital Gift Shop and the DFW National Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Honorable Judge Charles H. Storey, her first husband Walt Skwarlo, her parents, brother Wilmer Mathis and sisters Pat Prewitt, Billie Sargent, and Marie Pratt, and three step-children: Charles M. Storey, Melinda Beauchene, and Mary Jane Krewall. She is survived by her brother Jay Mathis of Longview, TX, step-grandchildren Katie Harvey, Suzanne Storey, Charles M. Storey, Jr., and Carl Storey, step-great-grandson Charlie Harvey, and numerous nieces and nephews to whom she was very close. The family wishes to express special thanks to her caregivers: Yvette Favors, Tammy Favors, Nolvia Morales, and Danielle Paghi. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Thorntree Country Club, 825 W. Wintergreen Rd., DeSoto. A memorial service will be held at noon Monday, August 17, 2015 at Oak Cliff Presbyterian Church, 6000 S. Hampton Rd., Dallas, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Oak Cliff Presbyterian Church
