Clarice D. "Nan" Haxel

91, was born in Coalgate, Oklahoma, raised in Norman, Oklahoma and passed away in Dallas, Texas on February 23, 2014 where she had lived for the last 47 years. She married her high school sweetheart Dwain on March 30 1941 and they were married for 68 years. Mrs. Haxel was preceded in death by her parents: Benton & Clemmie Davis; husband: Dwain T. Haxel; brothers: R.L. Davis & J.D. Davis; son: Robert "Skeeter" Haxel and granddaughter: Sandi Graham. She is survived by her daughter: Patty Haxel; daughter & son in law: Jeri & Bob Adams; daughter in law: Jody Haxel; grandchildren: Mainey, Scott, Deano, Tammy, Nina Ann and numerous great grandchildren & great great grandchildren. The high lite of Nan's life was camping, boating, fishing and water skiing on Lake Texoma with her family and last but not least her Cocker Spaniel Jayme. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. on Thursday - February 27, 2014 in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:30 A.M. Interment will follow in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials or donations be made in Mrs. Haxel's name to the DFW Cocker Spaniel Rescue, P.O. Box 863704, Plano, Texas 75086-3704 972-994-1133. Clarice will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
