Craige "Spanky" Merrill Gist

Our beloved brother, uncle and friend passed away on September 19, 2015 at the home of his sister: Mendy. He was born in Sherman, Texas to Billy M. and Marylynn Gist. Spanky was employed for many years in the carpet cleaning industry until 2008. He then joined DFW Motorcade; where he made many life long friends. Spanky is survived by his sisters: Mendy and her husband: Richard Grinnell, and Sharon Buxton, his only beloved niece: Shelby White. Other survivors include nephews: Mike and Keith Spracklen and their wives: Misty and Kelsey and their children and numerous aunts and uncles, and his partner of 20 years: Connie Minyard. "Spanky" requested no funeral but there will be a visiation and time of sharing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at WEST/HURTT Funeral Home in DeSoto.
