Daryl Cordell, 85, of Cedar Hill, TX passed away on August 21, 2021 in a Healthcare Center in Dallas, TX. He was born October 23, 1935 in Spanish Fort, TX to Theodore Roosevelt "Ted" and Edna Irene Cordell. He lived there until he was 13 and then moved to Pilot Point. In 1950, they moved to Tioga where he graduated high school in 1954. He spent 4 years in trade school where he became an electrician which he worked at for 44 years. On May 29, 1958 he married Betty Jane Mayo in Whitesboro, TX. After retirement, he and Betty started a nonprofit organization called Helping Hands Gleaning Ministry. They also managed to travel a lot. The were members of the First United Methodist Church in DeSoto. He was also a long time member of the Mason Organization. He was preceded in death by Betty in 2018, his parents, a sister and a brother. He is survived by a daughter, a grandson, 3 great grandchildren, 2 sisters and numerous members of the extended Cordell and Mayo families. Burial will be private.
