Dee Walton Trimble

July 8, 1939 — January 9, 2023

Dee Walton Trimble, Jr. entered the gates of Heaven on January 9, 2023. He was born July 8, 1939, to Dee Trimble Sr. and Maude Shields Lucas in McKinney, TX. Ater graduating from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, TX, Dee earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Trinity University, San Antonio, TX in 1961 before enlisting in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, Dee began his long career with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, during which he returned to school and earned a Master of Science Degree in International Business from University of Dallas in 1976. He would eventually settle in DeSoto, TX, where he met the love of his life, Karen L. Stephenson and they were married on August 12, 1989. Shortly after saying “I do”, AAFES transferred Dee and his family to Munich, Germany. During their time in Germany, Dee and Karen enjoyed traveling, and shopping with their children, Sean and Keri McCrossen. As a family, they enjoyed car trips, visiting historic castles, teaching Sean to ride a bike, and weekend walking trips to the PX, surrounding neighborhoods, and the local bakery. When his assignment was complete, Dee and the family moved back to DeSoto, TX. After retiring from AAFES in 1993, Dee decided to continue working, as well as coaching youth soccer and basketball. He would later be elected to the DeSoto ISD School Board where he was proud to serve the students and families of his community. Dee and Karen moved from DeSoto to Midlothian, TX in 2012. Up until his last days, Dee enjoyed the simple things in life, especially anything involving his family. He enjoyed catching a Cowboys game, attending the First United Methodist Church of Midlothian, watching the news, going to a baseball game, and loving on his dog, Lady. Dee’s greatest joy though came in the form of food, especially when it involved eating out together as a family! Dee is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen Stephenson Trimble, daughter Sally Greenberg and husband Jay of Mill Valley, CA, son Sean McCrossen and wife Jenae of Mabank, TX, and daughter Keri Castillo and husband Kevin of Mansfield, TX; grandchildren Tasco Estrada, Gia and Brent Greenberg, Maddex and Jett McCrossen and Kinslee Castillo; brothers Jerry Trimble and wife Betty, Ronnie Trimble and wife Diana, and Chris Trimble and wife Racquel, as well as several nieces and nephews and other extended family. Dee was preceded in death by his father, Dee Walton Trimble Sr., his mother, Maude Shields Lucas and sisters Patsy Bridges, Linda Logan and Carolyn Trimble. The family would like to thank all of Dee’s family and friends who continued to lift Dee in prayer over the years. Your love and comfort surrounded the family each and every day.
