Delbert Lee Hill September 21, 1942-April 6, 2017 Delbert Lee Hill, 74, of Lancaster, TX, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017.  He was born September 21, 1942 in Mesquite, TX to Hubert and Dollie Hill of Mesquite, TX.  Delbert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret of Lancaster, TX, two step-children, Melvin Gene Woods of Lancaster, TX and Elaine (Woods) Hansen and husband James of Sachse, TX, and daughter in law Lana Kay Woods of Frisco, TX; five granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Mahan and husband Ronald of Mesquite, TX and Betty Hamilton of Garland, TX, and one brother, Johnny Hill of Mesquite, TX. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Dollie Hill, brother Butch Hill of Mesquite, TX and step-son Kenneth Lee Woods of Aubrey, Texas. He was always known by Papa D, he was self-employed at D’s Emission Supply in Hutchins, TX. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and respected businessman who took pride in caring for his family. He touched the hearts of many with his wit and his conviction for doing what was right. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday - May 06 , 2017 at Mesquite Church of Christ, 400 W. Davis St., Mesquite, TX with Pastor Carlton Davis officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Delbert Lee Hill may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
