Delma Elliott Rast

100, of Cedar Hill was born in Leckie, WV on May 18, 1910. Her ancestors were Scots, Welsh, Irish, German and Native American stock. They immigrated to western Virginia and North Carolina in the 1600’s. She was an accomplished sales person in the midst of the Great Depression. First for Montgomery Ward, then as a realtor in Charleston, WV. She and Fritz H Rast married in 1931. In 1976 they moved to Shreveport, LA. Mr. Rast died in 1987, and later she married Rev. VanBuren Hanna, and she helped in his church. She moved in 2004 to Cedar Hill to be with family. She is survived by son, Tom and wife, Jane Rast of Brandon, MS, two grandsons, David and wife Leilani Rast of Albuquerque, NM and Stephen and wife Rhonda Rast of DeSoto and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5p.m. to 7 p. m. Wednesday, March 16 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, WV.
