Donald James Wendt, 83, of Desoto Texas, passed away December 16th 2021 after a lengthy illness. He was born to parents August and Esther Wendt on November 22, 1938 in Elmhurst Illinois. He attended York High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force immediately after. There he found his passion for electronics and starting working for Boeing working on the minuteman program which paved his road to a job at Fermi National Laboratory in Illinois and later on to the Super Collider in Texas. He was predeceased by his loving wife Judith Wendt in 2014 after 53 years of marriage, his parents Esther and August Wendt, and his brothers Theodore and Richard. He is survived by his sister Carol Schmidt of San Antonio Tx, son Jeffrey Wendt (Caron) of Rockwall Tx, daughter Jill Horton (Barney) of Cedar Hill Tx, son Dean Wendt (Lori) of Allen Tx, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.He loved riding his Harley, playing computer video games, and his two cats Angel and Shelly. Graveside Services, with Military Honors, will be held on Thursday - January 20, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mt. Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX.
