Dorothy Roach Haralson born May 19,1929 died June 2, 2021 at her home with family. She is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Devine of Austin and Colleen Boudreaux of Dallas; three daughters, Donna Haroutunian, Ann Melton, Lynn Sivertsen; and one son, Thomas Haralson. In addition, she had 7 grandchildren: Stephen Melton, JR.,Whitt Melton, Wes Melton, Stone Sivertsen, Todd Haroutunian, Matthew Haroutunian, Heather Haralson, and 8 Great Grandchildren, 4 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Dorothy Grace Roach was born in Dallas, Texas. Attended North Dallas High School and Southern Methodist University. Later she worked for her father Thomas Roach, in Sherman, Texas at his Ford dealership where she met her husband, Donald Lee Haralson, now deceased. She was a dedicated mother to her four children prior to re-entering the work force, and was actively involved in their many school, church and outside activities. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church and involved with school PTA organizations throughout her lifetime.
Retiring May 31, 1991 after serving as the Corporate Secretary of Southern Methodist University and previously secretary to the Vice President of Development, as Secretary to the Coordination Vice President, and as Executive Assistant to Presidents Hardin, Zumberge and Shields prior to being elected by the Board to the offices she held at the time of her retirement.
She was a loving, kind and patient mother and one of the most optimistic persons one would ever hope to meet. She always had a smile on her face and pleasant conversation with anyone she encountered.
