Kent Bayless, age 79, of DeSoto, Texas, passed away on May 4, 2026.
Born on July 9, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, Kent lived a life marked by service, curiosity, and deep dedication to his family and community. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Kent devoted more than 50 years of his life to caring for others as a dentist in the DeSoto community. His commitment to his patients went far beyond his profession — he built lasting relationships and earned the trust and respect of generations of families.
Outside of his work, Kent had a passion for traveling, a deep love of history, and an eye for photography. He was known for his thoughtful nature, steady presence, and genuine interest in the world around him. His faith as a Baptist was an important part of his life and guided the way he lived and served others.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents Jack Bayless and Bannie Bayless.
is survived by his sons, Joe Bayless, Matthew Bayless and his wife Breanna Bayless, Richard Bayless, Frank Lutz and his wife Debbie Lutz; and his beloved grandchildren, Sarah Bayless, Sebastian Bayless, Jackson Bayless, Kiera Bayless, Audra Bayless, Hayden Lutz and Charmayne Bayless, mother to his sons. He was a devoted father and grandfather, and his family was the center of his life.
He leaves behind a legacy of service, integrity, and compassion that will continue to be felt throughout the community he served so faithfully.
Graveside Services, with Military Honors, will be held in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mt. Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX on Monday - June 08, 2026 at 11:30 A.M.
