Duke Tunnell

October 14, 1938 — January 25, 2014

Thomas Duke Tunnell was born in Dallas, Texas, 75, long time Dallas resident, attended the University of Texas, served in the U. S. Air Force, worked on the Mariner 5 Space Program, and was in the Oil and Gas Industry for 40 years, past President of the Oak Cliff Country Club. Preceded in death by his daughter: Gina, Duke is survived by his “Honey”: Carol, daughters and husbands: Patti (Fred) Vanderploeg, and Babette (John) Welch, precious grandson: Duke Henry, sister: Mary Ann Walker and niece and nephew: Elizabeth and Charles Walker. He is also survived by Carol's children and grandchildren that loved him dearly: daughter: Dawn (Steve) Fitzsimmons, and son: Robert (Laurel) Placido, grandchildren: Kyle, Trevor, Karlie, Kira, Torin, and Keelin. A Memorial Tribute will be held at 2 P. M. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in the WEST/HURTT Chapel. Memorials are encouraged to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital P. O. Box 1000 - Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 “Bigger than life with his “Big” cigar and hearty laugh, he will be missed by his many friends and family”
