Born November 25th, 1945 to Julian and Maria Zarate, Ed grew up in Dallas and was a graduate of Krosier Tech High School in 1964. After high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corp and fought in the Vietnam War. He proudly served from 1964-1967, but was most proud to have been the Honor Man of his platoon. After completing his service, he began working for the United States Postal Service, where he worked for 42 years in both Dallas and DeSoto. He is preceded in death by one brother, five sisters, and Jeremy Myers. He is survived by his wife of 51 years. Adela Zarate, three sisters, daughters and sons-in-law Amy and Michael Gomez, Michelle and Terry Dickson, Diana Cotton, and Lori Zarate, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
