Ellen Rose Solchenberger was welcomed home to her heavenly rest on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at 53 years of age. She was born in Dallas, Texas, on July 18, 1958, and continued to live in and around Dallas all her life. She was brought up by two wonderful parents, Tony and Rosemary Solchenberger, who welcomed her to a loving family of five sisters and three brothers, with one brother, Alan Ross, being her twin. Ellen was a woman of strength who had incredible creativity and personality. She succeeded in securing a degree in criminal justice from The University of Texas at Arlington. She served on the Irving Police Department, and ultimately continued her career as a paralegal , working in Dallas for many years. Ellen loved animals and owned her share of both dogs and cats. In her younger years she was also a martial arts instructor who achieved her brown belt in Tae Kwon Do. Ellen’s intelligence and determination allowed her to achieve her goals in life, and now she has achieved the ultimate goal of life which is to be in the presence of the Lord. Ellen has many family and friends who cared deeply for her, including long-time friend Barb Stafford. Ellen leaves behind five grieving sisters, one brother, and much extended family. She will be deeply missed by all.
