Evelyn Ragland

83, of DeSoto, TX (a member of the Porter family - one of the pioneer families of DeSoto) passed away on September 07, 2015. Mrs. Ragland was preceded in death by her parents: Ira Howell Hood and Lou Gary "Gay" Porter Hood and her brothers: LaFate Hood, Gerald Porter and Gordon Hood. She is survived by her husband of 64 years: Parks "Doc" Ragland; children: Cindy & husband Robert Bloomfield, Larry Ragland, Judy & husband Tom McKenzie, Tammy & husband David Tisdale and Becky Snyder; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister: Shirley Banner and a host of cousins, nieces & nephews. Graveside Services will be held on Friday - September 11, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 1500 S. Westmoreland Rd., DeSoto, TX with Dr. Tuck Whitaker, officiating. The family will visit with friends following the graveside service. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials or donations be made in Mrs. Ragland's name to the charity of choice.
