FRANCES IRENE MITCHELL June 15, 1935 - August 02, 2017 82, of Dallas, TX passed away unexpectedly on August 02, 2017.  Born in Granite City, IL on June 15, 1935 to Roy and Beulah Goldie Scott Mitchell. Ms. Mitchell held a Masters of Theology from Perkins School of Theology, SMU and a Masters of Library Science from the University of North Texas. She also held a Bachelor of Arts from McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois and held a certification as a bilingual teacher in the State of Texas through Texas A & I and the University of Texas.   As an ordained United Methodist Minister in the Rio Grande Conference, she pastored in Georgetown, Wichita Falls, Amarillo, and Robstown.  Later, as a librarian, she worked for the school districts in Dallas, and West Oso, and also worked for Del Mar College and Texas A & M Corpus Christi. Ms. Mitchell enjoyed her retirement spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed mission trips with Ovilla UMC, playing bridge with her friends, and painting with oils and water colors. Survivors include her son: Daniel Scott Gomez and his wife: Edith of Oak Leaf, and daughter Kathryn Dianne Gomez Sanders and her husband: Eddie of Houston.  Grandchildren: Danielle, Samuel, Joshua, Ashley, Nathan, Nigel, and Gage.  Sister:  Linda Sartin. A Memorial Service will be held at Elmwood United Methodist Church, 1315 Berkley, Dallas, TX 75224 at 1:00 P.M. on Friday - August 11, 2017 with Rev. Sandra Cabrera and Rev. Isabel Gomez and Pastor Martha Valencia, officiatingThere will be an additional Celebration of Her Life to be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the Chapel of Grace Presbyterian Village  550 E. Ann Arbor, Dallas, Texas 75216. Memorials may be made to Ovilla United Methodist Church Mission Fund and Elmwood United Methodist Church.
