Gary Eugene Blanch

Gary Eugene Blanch, 81, passed away on November 30, 2016. Gary was born the son of Ralph and Edna Blanch on April 15, 1935, in West Weber, Utah He was raised in Adrian, Oregon, where he graduated high school. After graduation he married his high school sweetheart, Marianne MacFarland, in 1953. They moved to Nyssa, Oregon, and started a family the following year. Gary was the father of 2 sons, Greg and Kent and one daughter, Denise. Gary and Marianne were married for 63 years until her death. Prior to moving to DeSoto in 1978, Gary farmed and was a foreman at a meat processing facility, Wells & Davies, in Payette, Idaho. He began his career at UPS in 1980 and spent 20 years behind the wheel before retiring in 2000. Gary was an active member of the DeSoto Elks Lodge. He loved tinkering in his lawn and enjoyed serving others. He is survived by his son Kent Blanch, spouse Patty, grandson Kellen Blanch and great grandson Keaton Blanch; daughter Denise Blanch Ausmus and grandson Tanner Ausmus. A granddaughter, Jennifer Blanch Kelley, husband Greg Kelley; great-grandsons Patrick and Garrett; great-granddaughter Jordan and 2 great-great grandsons Oliver and Benjamin. He is also survived by sisters Delores Garner, Linda Cleverly and Carma McDermott and brothers Kris Blanch and Glenn Blanch. He was preceded in death by wife Marianne Blanch and eldest son, Greg Blanch. The family will receive friends at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home Chapel from 12:30 - 1:30 P.M. on Saturday - December 10, 2016 prior to the Funeral Service which will begin at 1:30 P.M. (all on the same day) with Pastor Larry Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, TX.
