Gennie V Wadle September 4, 1933 – January 9, 2024 Kind and loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Gennie V Wadle, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She was born on September 4, 1933 to Ernest and May V Brooks in Maypearl, Texas. Gennie grew up in Hill County and attended Hillsboro schools. She was so proud of her parent’s legacy in Hillsboro and always looked forward to class and family reunions. She made the big move to Dallas in the early 1950’s. The Lord had exciting plans for her in Big D – she met Roy at Fishburns Cleaners. He was the love of her life and they were married for 59 years. She excelled at her job at the 7-Up Bottling Company for over 22 years as a bookkeeper. During her time there, she was loved by all. Wanting to work closer to home, Gennie began working for the local cable company in DeSoto. She enjoyed her job there, but the highlight was talking with all the customers when they came into the office. She was a faithful member of Crossroads of Life Assembly of God. She always looked forward to the Senior Adult Ministry lunches and bringing her famous Tutti Frutti salad. Her passion was her relationships with others. She always looked forward to seeing longtime friends, but enjoyed meeting new people and learning their names. She loved others well and never met a stranger. Even while living at Primrose Assisted Living, with her memory fading, she continued to want to know everybody’s name and give her signature wave and sweet smile as she sat in the dining room. Anyone that knew Gennie knew of her love for sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. She and Roy had faith that one year the Rangers would be World Series Champions. You could always count on a watch party with friends wearing their favorite team gear as they cheered on the teams from their living room. Their love of football and baseball continued as they watched their two grandsons, Jacob and Caleb, compete in sports from a young age and on in to college. Gennie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Dean Wadle, parents, Ernest and May V Brooks, her brother, Jack Brooks; sister-in-laws, Robbie Brooks, Dot Brooks, Joni Chandler and Betty Barnes and brother-in-law, Bill Wadle. She is survived by her son, Brent Wadle and wife, Gigi; grandchildren, Jacob Wadle and wife, Carly, Caleb Wadle; great-grandson, Bishop Brooks Wadle; brother, Gene Brooks; sister-in-law, Nelda Wadle; nieces, Karen Cotten and husband, Billy; Erica Wright and husband, Jarod; Judy Corley; Vicki Reed and husband, Mike; Pam Kackley; Wendy Matthys; Cindy Piearce; nephews, Todd Barnes and wife, Sam; Danny Bowen and wife, Debby; Greg Wadle and wife, Teresa; many cousins and friends.
