George T. Beckham, Sr.

82, of Ovilla, TX passed away on July 15, 2013. He was born in Dallas, TX in 1931. The only son of Lawrence and Pauline Beckham. George was raised in Oak Cliff and was a 1949 graduate of Sunset High School where he was a member of the R.O.T.C. After graduation he served in the Air Force. George met the love of his life Joann Huey Beckham and the two were proud parents of two sons. They shared a wonderful marriage for 43 years. George was a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church, the NRA and a charter member of the Grand Prairie Gun Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Joann. He is survived by his sons & daughters in law: Tommy & Christina Beckham and Douglas & Rebecca Beckham; grandchildren: Christie & Michael Beckham. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday - July 17, 2013 from 6 - 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday - July 18, 2013. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, DeSoto, TX.
