George Arthur Biegler was a dedicated and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He passed away on Father’s Day, June 19th, 2022 at the age of 89. He was born to Karl and Emily on December 1st, 1932. We are all grieving over this devastating and sudden loss. There aren't enough pages in a book or time in a movie to describe, list, or illustrate how many lives George Biegler has touched. His smile and stories of his life experiences are eternal that will forever be in our hearts and memories. He had a gift of befriending just about anyone he met and had a positive impact on those around him with his contagious laugh and selfless character. His passion for soccer started at an early age when he was coached by his dad Karl in Brooklyn, NY. His loving mother, Emily had raised him to become the great man he was. He served as a corpsman in the Navy during the Korean War, where his navy brothers called him “Honest George.” After his service, he met and married the love of his life and soulmate, Marianne Riebau, in 1957. Together they had six children: Diane, Karen, Paul, David, Michael, and Thomas. George was a man of an exemplary life and believed in working hard. He served and retired as an NYC fireman for 32 years. His leadership continued when he became a soccer coach and mentor to his four sons and many others in the Deer Park, NY community. He was one of the co-founders of the Long Island Junior Soccer League and was an active member of the CYO soccer organization through St. Pius X in Queens, NY. He retired and moved to Texas where he spent his last 30 years playing golf with all his buddies at the country club in Red Oak. On 11/29/04, George married his second wife, Dale Niemeier where he spent wonderful times with Dale and her family. Dale passed away on June 8th, 2020.
