George J. Finney

October 11, 1926 — July 13, 2009

Mr. Finney was born in Gilmer, Texas, and died at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas. He retired as chief dispatcher of Central Forwarding. Recently he served on the council for the Seniors Citizens Board in DeSoto. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his sons, Michael and Scott, daughter, Carol McCord, grandchildren, Andrew, Josh, Justin, J. T., Michael D., and Michelle, great grandson, Jace, brothers, Clem Weldon and Norman Finney. Visistation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the funeral home. Services were at 1 P. M. Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the WEST/HURTT Funeral Home with Pastor John McKenzie officiating. Entombment followed at Laurel Land Mausoleum in Dallas. Memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, P. O. Box 199300, Dallas, Texas 75219-9300
