Hearold Wayne Hathaway, Sr.

Hearold Wayne Hathaway, Sr. Wayne was born May 27, 1940 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Hathie Hathaway and Philena Walker. He grew up in Oklahoma and Texas when he was small but spent most of his youth in California. He joined the army at the age of 17. When he joined, his mother decided to move back to Texas. When he got out of the army, he followed his mom to Dallas. Wayne found a job at a box company as a maintenance man in Dallas, on September 1, 1963. He retired February 1, 2005 after 42½ years. Wayne and Alice were married on July 18, 1964 in Dallas. They had two children, Cheryl in 1965 and Wayne, Jr in 1970. Wayne was a quiet man. He didn’t always have much to say but when he did, you should really have listened because he would carefully analyze the situation and give you the best advice to solve your problem. Wayne is preceded in death by his mother, Philena Hathaway and brother Scotty Hathaway. He is survived by his loving wife Alice of 53 years; a daughter, Cheryl McCalla and husband Michael; and a son, Hearold Wayne Hathaway, Jr and wife Deanna; 8 grandchildren: Lauren Ramsey, Megan McCalla, Alex Blanton, Samantha McDonald and husband Dean, Kayla Hathaway, Chase Hathaway, Lee Collins and Dakota Umberger; 3 great grandchildren: Marilyn McDonald, Braxton Wadley, and Owen McDonald on the way. Plus, a special brother-in-law, Raymond Bilbo. The family will receive friends at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Monday - July 31, 2017 from 6 - 8:00 P.M. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday - August 01, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in Old Hall Cemetery, 1200 McGee Lane, Lewisville, TX 75077.
