Ina Claire Bond

December 7, 1940 — May 19, 2025

Ina Claire Bond (December 7, 1940 – May 19, 2025) 84, of DeSoto, Texas passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on May 19, 2025. Born and raised in Panama City, Florida to Virgil Roy Strickland and Matilda Maude Strickland. Ina was the sixth born of seven sisters. She was tough but kind, beautiful and strong, classy and fabulous. She twirled the baton as a majorette and dazzled a man named Jack, a pilot stationed nearby, who became her lifelong partner in all things. She went on to marry him and they traveled the world together as they built their legacy of love. After proudly supporting her husband in his heroic Air Force career, she moved to Texas after his retirement in 1976 with him and their children. She went on to have a 22-year career as the favorite municipal court clerk of the City of Cedar Hill. She enjoyed cooking for a crowd, cultivating an incredible garden, traveling, chatting, shopping, Chanel No. 5, British comedies, dancing in the kitchen, a glass of eggnog on Christmas, a good cup of coffee with a healthy dose of half n half at any time of day, and anything that was a “thang of the south.” She was welcomed home into the gates of Glory by her husband, Jack, her parents, and three sisters Pauline, Irma, and Ann, as well as many extended family members and friends, including her beloved kitties through the years. She is survived by her three sons, Charles of Maypearl, Texas, David of Iconha, Brazil, Daniel of DeSoto, Texas; her grandchildren, Cory and his wife Natasha of McMinnville, Oregon, Magnolia of Lewisville, Texas, Cheyenne and her husband Jeff of Sparks, Nevada; great-grandchildren Harley, Wyatt, Maverick, Vesper, and Willow; her sisters Virginia, Bette, and Fannie; in addition to many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends, all of whom she loved very much. The family will receive friends at West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 10-11:30 A.M. Graveside Services will also be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 2:30 P.M. in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
