Mr. Pollock was born in the community of Wheatland, Texas and passed away at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas. He moved to Cedar Hill at the age of 4, went to school there, and at the age of 18, enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps. He served for 6 years during WWII. He then served in the Health Department for the City of Dallas for 32 years as a Sanitarian. Mr. Pollock served as a Boy Scout Leader for mentally challenged boys for 4 years, and served 7 years on the board for the Dallas Retarded Children Association. He also served as President of the C W A Union in Dallas. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Pollock, and son, Wendell Ray Pollock of Cedar Hill, and sister, Estelle Brown of Tyler. Services were held at 10 a. m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at First Baptist church of Cedar Hill, 602 W. Beltline Rd., Cedar Hill, Texas with Rev. Scott Blair, officiating. Interment was held at Little Bethel Memorial Park in Duncanville. Pallbearers were Mark Brown, Loyd Adair, Jim Russell, Charles Ray Sims, Robert Redding, Larry Paul Pollock.
