Jack Lee Fluitt

June 13, 1934 — November 14, 2018

Jack L. Fluitt, age 84 of DeSoto Tx passed away Wednesday late evening November 14 th, 2018. Beloved husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.

Jack Fluitt was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mildred Fluitt.His brothers Fred and Glynn Fluitt along with his sister Betty June Lounsberry. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Fluitt and his sister Ann Porter. His daughter Kathe Asher-Jeffries and sons Larry A. and David A. Fluitt. He has 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends.

He was a member of the Lions club, Elks Lodge and a volunteer for the Desoto Police department for many years in which he portrayed the character “McGruff” promoting child safety events at local schools. He was part of the volunteer group DCPAAA through the police department and a founding member of the “Citizen on Patrol” program He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. He retired 35 years from Oryx Energy ( Sun Oil Co).

Graveside Services, with Military Honors, will be held at 11:15 A.M. Tuesday - November 27, 2018 in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mt. Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX with Rev. Mike Simmons, officiating.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials or donations be made to Expand Our Reach c/o Hillcrest Baptist Church, 265 W. Pleasant Run Rd., Cedar Hill, TX 75104.
