James R. "Jim" Blake

83, of DeSoto, TX, passed away on December 27, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Blake; sons: Ricky Blake and Jimmy Bowen; brothers: Kenneth Blake and Edward Blake; sister: Martha Lou Blake; parents: George & Sadie Blake. He is survived by his children: Glenn & his wife Beverly Blake; Mike Blake; Steve Blake; Carol & her husband Larry Roberson; Cecil & his wife Beverly Bowen and Robert & his wife Carolyn Bowen; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 4 - 6:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Hampton Road Baptist Church, 400 N. Hampton Rd., DeSoto, TX with Rev. Emilo Rodriguez, officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, DeSoto, TX.
