James Carl Swinney of Red Oak, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 16, 2020. He was born July 24, 1943 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to David and Edith Swinney. After graduating high school in Dallas, he joined the Navy and served four years from 1961-1965. He became a Dallas Police Officer in 1976 and served as Corporal J.C. Swinney retiring in 2005. He is survived by his wife Carmel. Children Sarah Denton and husband Robert, Kimberly Cook and husband Chris, Daniel Guzman and wife Tammy, Theresa Anderson and husband Shane, Michelle Simmons, and Stephanie Pacheco. Grandchildren Ryder Denton, Chase Cook, Judson Cook, Trey Guzman, Lisa Koa, Erica Titsworth, Bryan Simmons, Brent Simmons, Ciera Pacheco, Ethan Pacheco, and Elijah Pacheco. Great-grandchildren Jayden Koa, Autumn Koa, Antonio Titsworth, and Carmel Titsworth. Brother Don Swinney, and several nieces and nephews. Friends are welcome to come pay their respects on Tuesday - April 21, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. * Restricted to no more than 10 at a time due to safe distancing. A private family Graveside Service will be held in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, De Soto, TX. The family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
