Janet Gay Stringfellow

Janet Gay Isbell Stringfellow passed away on December 21, 2021 in Mansfield, TX. Janet was born on July 24, 1950 in Dallas, TX. She was a proud graduate of Grand Prairie High School; from there she attended East Texas State University and earned a bachelor’s degree with a major in home economics. On June 5, 1970 she married the love of her life, Gerald Don Stringfellow and together they raised two daughters. She stayed home to raise her daughters until their teen years. She then began working at Amber Terrace Intermediate School in DeSoto, TX. She retired from DeSoto ISD with 20 years of service. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. She loved cooking, cleaning, hosting parties, Bon Jovi and spending time with her family especially her four grandsons. She had many lifelong friendships that meant so much to her. Once you were her friend, you were always her friend. Janet was preceded in death by her husband Don, father Claude Isbell, Jr. and her mother Kathryn Isbell. She is survived by her daughter Amy Foley and husband Mitchell, daughter Angie Strickland and husband Nathan; grandsons Kyle, Kaden, Kolby and Benjamin; her sister Susan Cantrell, her sister Kathy Hasty and husband Mike and many other friends and family that will miss her forever. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday - February 21, 2022 at Ovilla United Methodist Church, 1403 Red Oak Creek Rd., Ovilla, TX 75154 with Rev. Steve Heyduck, officiating. Interment of Cremains will follow in Wheatland Cemetery, 8000 S. Hampton Rd., Dallas, TX 75232.
