Janie Thompson Mantooth

Janie Thompson Mantooth, of Glenn Heights, passed away Sunday May 19, 2024 in Waxahachie. She was born in Okemah Oklahoma to James Harold Thompson and Martha Jo Tamplen. Janie and Bear married April 19, 1979 in Henrietta "Clay County", Texas. Janie worked many years as a medical billing specialist for Physicians Business Management in Fort Worth. She won multiple awards for her quick and accurate billing at a time when billing was done on paper and not electronically. Due to the drive, she went into private practice with Dr. Robert Brannon in North Dallas and later transferred to DeSoto finishing her career with Dr. Joe Phipps and Dr. Stephen B. Trammell. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of forty-five years James Rodney "Bear" Mantooth, Son, Gus Richard Allen of Bowie, Tx grandchildren Noah, Caci-Jo Allen, Jackson and Tyler. Great granddaughter Ava. Daughter Kim Heffington of Glenn Heights, grandchildren Jacob Tyler and Avery Elizabeth. Visitation Friday May 24, 2024 1-3:00 P.M. Funeral starting at 3:00 P.M. in the West/Hurtt Funeral Chapel. Interment in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX will be held on a later date. Date and time will be posted when scheduled.
