Jeffery "Jeff" Lynn Smith

Jeffery Lynn Smith was born September 30, 1954, to William E. Smith and Golda Jean Smith (Hamby) in Texarkana, Arkansas. He passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023. Jeff graduated from DeSoto High School in 1972. He received his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Texas at Arlington. After graduation Jeff was employed with General Dynamics, LTV Aircraft and later with Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie where he retired. Jeff loved listening to his music and watching nascar racing. He was an avid fan of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles – he was never without his Harley-Davidson ballcap. He had an unconditional love for his dogs, Harley and Dago. He had a rough demeanor and wasn’t afraid to share his opinion but he was also fiercely loyal to his brother and friends showing he had a heart of gold. Jeff was a very unique person and will be fondly remembered with love. Jeff is survived by his brother, Mark Adrian Smith and wife, Debra Kay Smith, Weatherford, Texas; an uncle, Gary Smith, Fort Worth, Texas; an aunt, Martha Jane Smith, Arlington, Texas; and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. To honor Jeff’s memory consider donating to the Humane Society of North Texas. A Memorial Service will be held for Jeff at a later date.
