Jimmy Edward Ashford

82, U S Army Veteran, of Waxahachie, TX passed away on November 13, 2019. Jimmy was a member of the Elk's for 40+ years and a current member of the DeSoto Elk's Lodge #2552.  He retired from DISD after 18 years of service.  He enjoyed hobbies such as woodworking, fishing and cooking.  His most favorite was watching all of his John Wayne movies. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 58 years:  Donna Hull Ashford; children:  Cheryl Reed, Christy Black & Stephen Ashford; grandchildren:  Lee, Jay, Brian, Danielle & Sydney; great grandchildren:  MacKenzie, Andrew, Jayson, Skylar & Brandie; brothers & sisters:  Horace, Linda, Carol Ann, Bill & Leonard. There will be no public viewing or visitation. Graveside Services, with Military Honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday - November 20, 2019 in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mt. Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX 75211 with Mr. Steve Reed, officiating.
