79, Master Sergeant (Retired) John Alfred Edwards, Jr., U S A F, of DeSoto, TX (formerly of New Jersey) passed away on November 04, 2016 in Glenn Heights, TX. Born in Riverside, NJ on July 13, 1937. John Graduated from Riverside High School in 1955. He was retired Air Force veteran of Vietnam, Retiring as Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. John then worked in the print shop at the Burlington County College for 20 years and retired in 1997. After that he moved to DeSoto, TX and worked security for the Cowboys Stadium until 2009. John is survived by his wife: Elaine Rose Edwards (nee Seppy) of DeSoto, TX from Hammonton, NJ; son of the late John A. Edwards & Mary Edwards (nee Gilbert) from Riverside, NJ; father of the late Susan Thomas (nee Edwards) of Philadelphia, PA; Jennifer McColgan (nee Edwards) of Riverside, NJ; John D. Edwards of Hagarville, AR; Angela Edwards of Belleville, MI; Lisa Stevens (nee Edwards) of Houghton, LA;  Daniel Edwards of Red Oak, TX; Noreen Johnston of Glenn Heights, TX; Doug Johnston of Glenn Heights, TX; Mark Johnston of Glenn Heights, TX; brother of Glenn R. Edwards of Edgewater Park, NJ and the late Richard G. Edwards of Riverside, NJ; also survived by several grandchildren & great grandchildren. Memorial Graveside Services, with Military Honors, will be held in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mt. Creek Pkwy., Lane B., Dallas, TX on Monday - November 21, 2016 at 2:15 P.M.
